I recommend this site to communicate with the students' parents. Remember that it is a computer translation and grammar or misused vocabulary can occur. I always state this at the beginning of my translated letters.

It is important that our Spanish speakers not only learn English but also keep reading and writing in their native language. This site has 811 free children's books online. They can choose their home language and read a story (that is if they are literate in this language) and then respond in a journal. Their written response can be English or Spanish.
